Sunny and Cold

We saw the sun for the first time in a week today, and with the extremely cold, dry air, everything looked crisp and bright outside. Towards sunset, we once again headed towards Coronado Heights, thankful for the 4-wheel drive capabilities of our vehicle as the road was a bit icy. Did I mention it was cold? On the northwest corner of the hill, where the 2nd picture was taken, we felt the full brunt of the north winds. The nominal temperature was about 12; with the wind chill it was more like 0 F. We then drove over to the castle so Moneka could run to the top. Sheltered by the structure it was actually tolerable to be out of the car for a few minutes. Here I captured an interesting image of the frozen tire tracks lit by the setting sun.
