More Paris in HDR
I'm working on a series of HDR photos, one per month, from 2009, and while I was reviewing the May images I ended up with another 5 Paris HDR photos.
The first image was taken from our room.
The next 3 are various shots from around Paris.
The last photo was taken in Giverny, southwest of Paris.

Snow Birds 2010
We had a nice snow storm today and I couldn't resist going out after lunch to take a few photos of the birds feeding on our deck.

Paris 2009 Revisited
View from our hotel, overlooking the Paris School for the Deaf. My favorite HDR photo to date! (Click to see a larger version without leaving the site; works for all images on this page.)

Place de la Concorde, taken after visiting Musée de l'Orangerie.

Looking down the Seine. We were walking across the river on a different bridge, after having ridden the bus from Place de la Concorde.

Sainte-Chapelle; this was taken a couple of blocks from the previous picture, about a block from one of our most frequently utilized bus stops.

Eiffel Tower from across the river. The clouds are natural (other than the HDR processing).

French Senate, Luxembourg Gardens. The gardens begin across the street from where our hotel was located. As a result of its nearness, we enjoyed multiple visits to the park.

I started looking over some of my recent photos to see if any were amenable to HDR processing. While it's best to use multiple images when creating a High Dynamic Range image, reasonable results can be achieved with just one photo.
Once I got started I ended up creating an HDR photo of the month for 2009 photo series. When I got to the May photos from Paris I guess you could say I got sidetracked, as I ended up creating 10 different Paris HDR photos (the HDR photo of the month will likely appear in the near future).

Water Lily, HDR
For today's HDR image post, we go back to October 2008. These photos are from Tower Grove Park in St. Louis. The original version reminded me of a painting; the HDR version even more so.
