I mentioned in a previous post that we were too late returning from our Kansas trip to attend what was no doubt a most excellent Neil Young concert; but we did have our reasons.
As it turned out, detouring to visit our Yorkie breeder south of Sacramento proved to be worth missing Neil; we finally got a new dog! We had been looking since April, when we attended a Yorkie show in Sacramento.
We found our breeder via someone we met at that show, and have been working with her for the past month or so. As luck would have it, the first puppy was ready for us the weekend we left for Kansas. She said there would soon be another one, so we decided to be patient.
We were returning from our visit to Kansas, heading west on 120, when we decided to call our breeder. She was usually unavailable on weekends, and we called mainly because we were in the area; we didn’t really expect an answer. Fortune was smiling on us because the breeder was both home and ready to show us two puppies; the original one and the one that had come of age during our absence.
It didn’t take long for one of the puppies to make its choice, and we left shortly thereafter with a very tiny, very precious Yorkshire Terrier puppy. I guess we waited long enough after the loss of Kona; I fell in love with the puppy during the drive home.

Now if you do the dog whole, at a low temperature, in a basting sauce of coconut milk, thai basel and lemongrass, you will find that puppies are very tender!

I’m curious from which breeder you obtained your Yorkie? I have been reading about a certain breeder on her site and am quite impressed. The picture you have posted, I believe, is the breeder? If so, you got your Yorkie from the same person I am considering. Would lvoe to hear your comments. Please let me know. We are from Manhattan, Kansas, so your connection with Sacramento (where we are now) and Kansas, has caught my attention.

Hello,
I grew up in South Sacramento and have had a Yorkie in the family since 1981! That is, until my last one passed on this past summer. We are still grieving for her. We now live a few hours away from Sacramento. Could you please tell me the name and contact info of the breeder you got your yorkie from? I am really ready to have a new addition to our family and don’t really know of any good yorkie breeders? Thanks so much and God bless.

She doesn’t ship.
I don’t know how much they go for currently.
A good breeder is hard to find, and they often require a personal recommendation. In fact, it’s not uncommon for the breeder to interview the customer to ensure the dog is going to a good home.
All that to say, good luck, and your best bet is to attend a local dog show and talk to Yorkie owners there.
