On our recent trip out west we had the opportunity to spend a fair amount of time at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. No surprise, many photos were taken; a few of which are shown below (click on any of the images to visit our Flickr Grand Canyon image set).

Impressive photos. I’ve never been but I get the impression that in person it is overwelming to the point that the photos can’t do it justice.

I highly recommend going if you get the chance. When we drove across the country 4 times in 2002 we may have seen it one too many times, but the past couple of visits have been very much worth the effort.
It is a physical experience. Pictures can only hint at the vastness of the canyon. Also, the miles and miles one drives before the canyone, with no hint of what’s to come, help put things in perspective.

Amazing pictures. I went to the West Rim on a trip from Vegas a couple of years ago and was slightly disappointed so was looking for images of the South Rim to see whether the longer trip to there would be a better experience since I’m taking my mother with me.
Are those images all from driving along or did you take one of the aerial tours?

All images taken safely from dry land!
Glad you enjoyed them.
